Mid America Freedom Band        

 Who We Are

We are the Mid America Freedom Band, Kansas City's LGBT Community Band. We perform 3 signature concerts each season as well as outreach events such as Kansas City Gay Pride, Out in Westport, AIDS Walk and the Brookside St. Patrick's Day Parade. The members of our band reflect the diversity of the KC Metro. We take community band to the next level.

Cheer on MAFB March 13th, at 2PM as we march for the second year in Brookside. The Band will be joined by the Kansas City Bar*B*Q's.  For more information on the event visit Brookside Business Association.
The Parade Route:
  • Start at 65th and Wornall
  • North on Wornall to 63rd St.
  • East on 63rd St to Main
  • South on Main St. to Meyer Blvd.
  • West on Meyer Blvd. to Brookside  Rd.

    Where To Find Us

    Mid America Freedom Band performs in the beautiful Unity Temple on the Plaza. The address is 707 W. 47th Street, Kansas City, MO. MAFB is proud to perform in the well known and easily accessible venue. Our new address puts us in a centrally located area of the Kansas City Metro. Our concert dates are located on the calendar to the right of the page.


    Our rehearsal home is in the historic Central Presbyterian Church located at the corner of Armour Blvd. and Campbell Street - 3501 Campbell Street, Kansas City, MO. We have a great space for our office and band equipment as well as rehearsals and meetings. Our rehearsals are generally on Thursday from 7-9PM.

    Who Can Join?

    MAFB is always looking for new members to grow and maintain our band. We welcome anyone who loves to make music, enjoys a great group of musicians and desires to have fun. We do ask that you be 18 years of age.
