Note from the Executive Director

2008 will be a mark in our history as the year we step out of childhood to begin a new chapter for our organization. The Finance Director and I sat down in February to figure out the budget for the band. I looked at where we had come from and where the organization was going, and I could see some wonderful things happening. Our membership was growing and so was our fan base. Our organization was creating a buzz in the community. We were creating a buzz amongst ourselves. So I started asking questions to myself and the other leaders in the organization: How do we increase our membership and talent, our fans, and the community?  The leaders came back with great ideas of things we could not do six years ago because of our size. I thought that now is the time to grow more. Our budget had increased tremendously in the past three years, and this year was no exception. However, we are starting to understand what it means to be a non-profit and be able to practice it. So the Finance Director asked me how much do you think our total funds goal should be I didn't hesitate and said $21,000. Granted, I was planning the budget for months and creating a growth strategy for the organization. Six years + and we are doing great. It is because of our members, fans and the community. So a call out to you, the fan or member: we need your help. Our organization needs instruments, more musicians, production items, and of course volunteers. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. So please gove some time or money and help keep the music playing!
