 We've asked her ten questions to see what makes her tick:
- If I wasn't at band on Thursday evenings, I would be... in some political group or playing in some other band.
- In what other organizations or groups do you participate? I belong to a gay rights activist group called PROMO and a political discussion group.
- In the last 12-18 months, what single achievement or activity are you most proud of? I can't name one single thing, just a lot of "little" things: helping build a Habitat for Humanity house, playing in the Gay Games marching band in Chicago last year, learning, growing, getting up every morning...
- What are your three most favorite things to do in your free time? Well, the ones I'll admit to are reading, playing music, and walking on the beach in San Francisco.
- What is the best book you have ever read? These are hard questions! One of them would have to be "Living With the Himalayan Masters."
- If you had one month that you could take off from all responsibility, with unlimited funds, what would you do? Rent a beach house in San Francisco with my cats and do nothing but paint, take photographs, write poetry, play music, and run on the beach. And entertain guests if they were nice.
- What single piece of wisdom would you like to leave for the next generation? Know that we're all connected, and act accordingly.
- My best friend tells me I'm ... her best friend.
- When I was a kid, i always got in trouble for... running late. Good thing that's not a problem any more...
- Why do you think it's important to be part of KC's gay and lesbian community band? It's a "gentle" way of being out - not confrontive but making a statement with a large group of friends while giving listeners the gift of music.
